Privacy at Blokello.
Effective with Blokello 1.4.0 · Applies to iOS, iPadOS and Android
Blokello is a block puzzle game made by Abdul Aktoğ and distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The core game is played offline and needs no account. Blokello also includes an optional online Leaderboard: only if you choose to join does the app send your chosen profile and score to our game server (hosted on Cloudflare). This page explains what is used, why, and how you stay in control.
Data used by the Leaderboard
Joining the Leaderboard is optional. If you join, the following is sent to and stored on our game server so public rankings can work:
- Your chosen display name.
- An optional Instagram username you enter (stored without the “@”; shown publicly with “@”).
- Your submitted high score.
- An anonymous, persistent player and entry identity that lets the game recognise your own entry without any account.
- Reports you choose to submit about another player (a reason, and optional short details).
- Moderation and audit information, where a moderation action is taken.
Data stored on your device
- Your local high score — kept even if you never join the Leaderboard.
- Whether you have submitted a score, and the last submitted value.
- An anonymous ownership credential protected by the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore, used only to prove that an entry is yours.
- Identifiers of players you have blocked locally.
- Gameplay preferences and related state — board, theme, settings, joker inventory and the local purchase-fulfilment ledger.
- On Android, eligible local app data may be included in Android Auto Backup or device transfer according to your Google and device backup settings. The encrypted Leaderboard ownership credential is specifically excluded because its Android Keystore key is device-bound.
Why this information is processed
- Showing public rankings.
- Applying your profile and score updates.
- Verifying that an entry belongs to you before it is edited or deleted.
- Preventing abuse and misuse.
- Handling reports and moderation.
- Keeping the service secure.
What other players can see
If you join the Leaderboard, your display name, optional @instagram handle and score / rank are public and can be seen by other players in the app. Everything else — your ownership key, your blocked list and your local progress — stays private to your device.
Moderation and safety
- Display names and Instagram handles are filtered before they are published.
- You can report another player from the Leaderboard.
- You can block or hide players locally on your device.
- An administrator can review reports and take action.
- Where needed, names or handles may be redacted or hidden, scores invalidated, entries deleted, or a player banned from the Leaderboard.
Deleting your data and your choices
You can delete your own Leaderboard entry at any time from inside the app — open your entry and choose delete. This removes the public profile and ranking and replaces or clears the public display name, optional Instagram username and score. It does not delete your local gameplay high score. Anonymous player or entry identifiers, score and username histories, reports, moderation actions, and audit, security or legal records may remain after public deletion so the service can preserve integrity and investigate abuse. You can remove local data using the in-app reset options or your device's app-data controls; eligible Android backup data may be restored later under your Google/device backup settings. For another privacy or deletion request, email abdul.aktog@icloud.com. A verified request may allow controlled redaction of raw historical display names while retaining the underlying event record; full deletion of every retained record is not guaranteed.
Advertising and tracking
Blokello 1.4.0 is ad-free. It does not include or initialise Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), Unity Ads or advertising mediation. It does not request or use the Android Advertising ID, and it does not use Apple IDFA, App Tracking Transparency or AdSupport. Blokello 1.4.0 therefore does not process ad interactions, advertising analytics, ad-derived approximate location or data for third-party advertising purposes. Earlier Blokello versions may have included ads; this section describes version 1.4.0 and later unless a newer policy says otherwise.
In-app purchases
Consumable joker-pack purchases are processed by Apple App Store / StoreKit on Apple platforms and Google Play Billing on Android under each provider's own privacy terms. Product identifiers, purchase tokens or transaction identifiers, purchase state, acknowledgement or consumption status and local fulfilment state are processed as needed to verify and fulfil a purchase exactly once. Blokello does not directly receive or store your payment-card or bank details, billing address, or App Store/Google Play password. The app keeps the local fulfilment ledger and joker inventory needed to deliver purchases.
Third-party services
Blokello relies on Apple App Store / StoreKit and Google Play / Google Play Billing for distribution and purchases, and on Cloudflare to host and deliver the Leaderboard game server. Platform and store operators may independently process transaction, security and diagnostic data under their own privacy terms. Blokello 1.4.0 contains no third-party advertising SDK and no separate general-purpose analytics SDK. Apple-platform builds may process limited non-tracking device or installation identifiers, performance data and other diagnostic data for app functionality, diagnostics and security.
Retention and security
Leaderboard profile data is kept while your entry exists. Public deletion removes or redacts the public profile and ranking, but the service does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to retained score or username histories, reports, moderation actions, and audit, security or legal records. Those records may remain to preserve service integrity, investigate abuse or meet obligations. A verified privacy request may allow controlled redaction of raw historical display names without erasing the underlying event facts. Network transfers use HTTPS/TLS. Anonymous ownership credentials are protected by the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore; the Android credential is excluded from backup because its key is device-bound. Reasonable measures protect this information, but no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
Children
Blokello is a general-audience puzzle game, is not directed to children, and follows its Apple App Store and Google Play age disclosures. Blokello does not ask for or collect an age or date of birth. Please avoid entering personal information — including an Instagram handle — that you do not want to be public.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new effective date will appear at the top of this page, and material changes may also be noted in the app's release notes.
